Thai Yoga Bodywork

Combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. This dynamic bodywork focuses on balancing the physical and energetic bodies of the receiver. A treatment is given on a mat, on the floor, while the client remains fully clothed. Traditional Thai bodywork uses no oils or lotions. There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked. The massage generally follows designated lines "sen" in the body. Sen correspond to different parts of the body, such as the bones, muscles, blood, and nerves. Some Sen also affect the mind and consciousness. These are called subtle channels. The pressing techniques used in Thai bodywork are designed to increase blood circulation to facilitate the better flow of oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. Other benefits of Thai bodywork include improving range of motion, boosting energy levels, and overall relaxation.
